Kenny Walker's story is truly inspiring. We figured he can tell it in his own words.

"This is my dad and me.

My dad use to leave me 10 bucks on the coffee table.

I spent that little 10 bucks as fast as I got it. It didn’t buy a whole lot, but when you're broke, those 10 bucks seem like a fortune.

It wasn’t till I was in a hard spot and rock bottom was calling my name that I started to utilize that little 10 bucks.

I was broke. I used that 10 bucks to get me to the career center. That’s where I learned of the grant that would help me get into trade school.

I had 10 bucks a day. And I had to make it count.

I used that 10 bucks to take that grant and go to trade school (Arc Pro Pipe Welding School). That 10 bucks got me there and back every day for 18 weeks.

With a little perseverance, a prayer, and just 10 bucks, Over time with God's grace, my life was built on just 10 bucks at a time. All because I wanted more.

Here I am today living the dream I envisioned once sitting on my dad's porch.

If you really want a better life, you will find a way.

You will do whatever it takes. And you either will or you won’t. That’s up to you.

Most days I feel my like entire life went from dirt to diamonds. I have to remind myself of that on my bad days. Because no matter how good you are, even the best fall down sometimes. And oddly, my own story inspires me occasionally."
