Making its first appearance in West Virginia in 15 years, the Alabama gymnastics went through a two-hour practice in WVU Coliseum Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s NCAA Morgantown Regional Championships.

“The ladies are primed and ready,” UA head coach Dana Duckworth said. “We had a great practice in this beautiful facility and we’re ready to come out on fire tomorrow.”

The Crimson Tide is the No. 1 seed at the six-team regional that gets underway at 4 p.m. ET. The last time Alabama competed in Morgantown was in 2002. The Tide won that regional and would go on to win its fourth NCAA title to close out the season.

Alabama will be joined on Saturday by No. 2 seed Michigan, No. 3 seed Southern Utah as well as George Washington, host school West Virginia and Kent State.

The Tide opens the regional on the uneven bars. From there, Alabama will move to the balance beam before going to its first bye, followed by the floor exercise and vault before finishing on a bye.

Each regional team will have an individual gymnast from a school that did not advance rotating with it. Majesta Valentine of West Chester will rotate with the Crimson Tide.

The top-two teams from each of the six regionals across the country will move on to the NCAA Championships, which will be held April 14-15 in St. Louis, Mo.

Alabama comes into the Morgantown Regional having won an NCAA-best 31 regional titles and advancing to the NCAA Championships 34-consecutive years.
