The novel Coronavirus pandemic continues to impact all aspects of life in Tuscaloosa, and the Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Service is no exception.

WBRC Fox 6 News reports 25 employees of the Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Service are currently on administrative leave as a result of COVID-19. Fire Chief Randy Smith says his workers are out on the front lines of the pandemic daily, risking constant exposure to the virus.

The Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Service is still able to do its job, as many employees have been asked to put in overtime hours or are working a different shift to cover the outages.
