“Wear your mask.” I know you are sick of it. Honestly, I am over it too, but I carry on.
Let’s just face it. As the COVID-19 cases are on the rise, the mask mandate isn’t going anywhere.
WBRC Fox 6 reported that “Administrators at Tuscaloosa’s DCH Regional Medical Center are asking people to be more cautious right now. The hospital has experienced a spike in COVID-19 positive patients needing medical treatment.”
I’m not going to lie; this is concerning to me.
I appreciate you for practicing social distancing, washing your hands, sanitizing, and wearing the mask. We also remember to wash our mask. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention offers some great tips on how to wash our masks effectively.
The CDC mentions that you “wash your cloth mask whenever it gets dirty or at least daily. If you have a disposable face mask, throw it away after wearing it once.”
Based on the CDC recommendations, this is how I take care of my masks. You can wash by hand, but I toss it in the washing machine with regular laundry detergent. I use a free and clear type of soap to help with any over perfume type smells. If you want to wash it by hand, it’s perfectly fine. I’ve done it once or twice. Just use laundry detergent and tap water but be sure to rinse thoroughly. Be sure to toss it in the dryer on the appropriate setting. Or you can always lay it flat or hang it up to dry.
Is this a pain? Yes! But, it’s a great way to help flatten the curve and protect yourself and others.
