One man was found shot dead and another man severely beaten at a mobile home park early Sunday morning, (9/3).

According to Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit commander Capt. Gary Hood, Sheriff’s deputies were called to Southern Oaks Trailer Park on Crabtree Road around 2:30 a.m., where they discovered Calvin Pruitt Jr., 38, dead from a gunshot wound near Lot #74. A second victim, 39, was found severely beaten on the ground near Pruitt. He remained in critical condition at DCH Regional Medical Center Sunday afternoon.
Investigators have charged two suspects, one for the murder, and another in connection with the beating.

Antwan Laderrick Adams, 24, called the Sheriff’s Office to surrender. After questioning, he was charged with murder, second-degree assault and felon in possession of a firearm. He is currently being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $90,000 bond.

In addition, after examining crime scene evidence and speaking with witnesses, investigators also charged Heather Elizabeth Bostic, 21, with second-degree assault in connection with the beating. She remained jailed Sunday afternoon with bond set at $15,000.

The investigation in continuing, and investigators anticipate more arrests.
