Timeline For Severe Weather - Monday 4 p.m. – Tuesday 7 a.m.

Weather Outlook For Monday, December 16^th

The story for today is about the possible active weather situation will we will have this afternoon into this evening.  This means you should be weather aware and pay attention to any watches or warnings that might be issued.

The Storm Prediction Center has listed a good portion of our listening area in an “enhanced” risk level for severe storms and the other regions with a “slight” risk area.

Enhanced Risk does call for Tornadoes, Damaging winds up to 70 mph and quarter-sized hail.

Slight Risk gives the outlook for the possibility of Tornadoes, Damaging winds up to 60 mph, and quarter-sized hail.

The timeline has been adjusted again, from Monday 4 p.m. until Tuesday at 7 a.m.  Our area will be mainly focused between the hours of Monday, 4 p.m. until Tuesday at 2 a.m. Also, the Storm Prediction Center does list West Alabama and parts of Mississippi and Louisiana to have higher tornado potential.

National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook with the risk of severe storms for all of Central Alabama from roughly 4 PM this afternoon until 7 AM Tuesday. Tornadoes, damaging straight-line winds and golf ball size hail will all be possible.  For the following counties: Marion-Lamar-Fayette-Winston-Walker-Blount-Etowah-Calhoun-Cherokee-Cleburne-Pickens-Tuscaloosa-Jefferson-Shelby-St. Clair-Talladega-Clay-Randolph-Sumter-Greene-Hale-Perry-Bibb-Chilton-Coosa-Tallapoosa-Chambers-Marengo-Dallas-Autauga-Lowndes-Elmore-Montgomery-Macon-Bullock-Lee-Russell-Pike-Barbour.
