In a candid interview with The Steve Shannon Morning Show, Mayor Walt Maddox said we are facing “the most pivotal 2 weeks in Tuscaloosa’s history" as the City of Tuscaloosa prepares for the continued spread of the novel Coronavirus.

Ainsworth concluded the release by affirming that masks should be worn in an effort to curb further outbreaks, but he simply does not agree with enforcement in that area.

This comes as an addition to her "Safer at Home" order, which seeks to protect Alabama's communities through rigorous hygiene and social distancing policies. Her decision for the mandate was based on the rising cases of COVID-19 across the state.

Walmart is not the first retail giant to enforce a mask policy in its stores. Other stores with similar mandates include the Apple Store, Dollar Tree, Starbucks and Costco.

Voters do NOT have to wear a mask while at the polls.
