The movies always blow everything out of proportion. Alabama has great farmland, beautiful countryside and wonderful small towns. However, as much as I love Alabama, there are a few drawbacks. Some places don't have the best recreational activities in Alabama.
I don't recall ever, in my 47 years, seeing a retailer do anything like this in the actual business. Other than the mini newspaper I see in Tuscaloosa/West Alabama gas stations, with mugshots of folks arrested in the last few weeks.
Now, we have a mom that noticed a man that set off her internal alarms because he was acting strange. Parents are blessed with this gift of the ability to sense that something is just off. That same man tried to take her child just a little while later. So, police are looking for this man that, allegedly, tried to abduct her child in a Walmart with her mother.
It's Christmas time for heaven's sake! Not only thieves at Christmas time, but brazen thieves in broad daylight! This is happening more and more in Tuscaloosa and West Alabama.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and RadarOnline, a young teen girl was allegedly kidnapped in Alabama and then taken across state lines. The young girl reportedly met someone named Colby Jordan in Houston County, Alabama. Houston County, of course, is the county with it's biggest city being Dothan, Alabama.

As we get ready for a new year, the violent crime statistics are released for review. This research is from the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting stats on violent crime and property crime.
As a father of two little girls (they will always be little to me) this story is as scary as it gets. Authorities in Alabama are calling a 12-year-old girl a hero, and we all should do the same. Kidnapped and being held for a week, against her will.
Foster it and take care of one of the only relationships that will always be around even when a spouse runs out on you. These Alabama siblings will be close forever, I am willing to bet.
