Social Distancing Check Leads To Murder Suspect Arrest At Beach

Police in Jacksonville, Florida arrested 30-year-old Mario Gatti who was wanted for murder in Pennsylvania.

Only a few days after the state of Florida re-opened, Jacksonville Beach police were patrolling the beach to ensure people were practicing social distancing. According to Action News Jax, they ended up finding a man on the beach who turned out to be a fugitive wanted for murder. Mario Gatti shot and killed 33-year-old Michael Coover Jr. in January in Arnold, Pennsylvania. More than 800 miles from Jacksonville, Florida.

Although many people may not agree or like the reopening of beaches in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it could be safe to say that something good came from beaches being opened.
