Country sister trio Sister C were one of the Music City acts invited by YouTube to record a video for The Nashville Sessions, and their installment -- a performance of their song "Willie Nelson & My Dog" -- is premiering exclusively on The Boot.

“Willie Nelson & My Dog” is a raucous, tongue-in-cheek look at what it feels like to dodge a bunch of dumb, vapid pickup lines during a night out when all you want to do after being at the bar is go home, listen to some good tunes and spend time with the one you love the most: your dog.

“Let me throw you a bone / I’m leaving here alone / There’s someone out there waiting for me at the back door 'til I get home,” sings the trio in the song's chorus. “You’ve done nothing wrong / Just blame it on old country songs / You may have come here looking for love and trying to steal away my heart / But you ain’t Willie Nelson, and you ain’t my dog.”

“When we sat down to write "Willie Nelson & My Dog," we wanted the song to be a super-playful and witty response to the same old overused, cheesy pickup lines,” say Sister C. “We were raised on Willie Nelson, and anyone who knows us knows we always had a pack full of pups running around our house (and still do). We wanted to challenge ourselves by combining the two in saying, ‘Nice try, but I'd rather just go home alone and hang with my dog.’"

Comprised of Cirby, Carli and Celbi Manchaca, Sister C first stormed onto the scene as finalists on the second season of X Factor, where they were coached by Simon Cowell. Each songwriters and performers in their own right, the trio of sisters has been performing together since childhood in tiny Mont Belvieu, Texas.

“Willie Nelson & My Dog” appears on Sister C’s brand-new EP, Demo Sessions, Vol. 2, released on Aug. 19. The song, as well as the full project, is available for download on iTunes.
