Rhett Akins, Luke Bryan Go Incognito to Busk in Cleveland [WATCH]
Luke Bryan and his songwriting buddies went rogue before a recent concert in Cleveland, Ohio. The country star and his friends Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip -- together known as the Peach Pickers -- were wandering around the city before one of Bryan's shows when they decided to try their hands at busking.
Readers can press play on the video above, filmed prior to Bryan's Huntin', Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day Tour stop at Cleveland's Progressive Field on July 15. Akins is playing Bryan's "That's My Kind of Night" on an acoustic guitar attached to a small amplifier; there's a sign identifying a musician named Johnny next to him, so he may have asked a busker to sit in for a few minutes.
“This street player named Luke Brown is pretty good!" Hayslip writes in the video's caption. "Even got @lukebryan dancin!"
At one point in the clip, Bryan jumps in to dance along to the hit, as Hayslip, Davidson and others watch on and film. There's a few people checking out the performance, and some passers-by who walk up near the end, but no one recognizes him.
Bryan's spending his summer out on tour, but he's also working on a new project — he’s “probably about halfway through [it],” he says — and balancing his career with spending time with his family.
“I really have not ever taken a breath since I rolled into this town. So I’m kind of taking a little breath and enjoying that. And then you start having anxiety about not having music out,” Bryan adds. “So yeah, I’m in the studio and really, really proud of the stuff I’ve got … And that’s the thing: I love going in — the energy in the studio, trying to outdo myself again.”
A list of all of Bryan's upcoming shows is available on his website.
