The loaded running back position at Alabama took a hit on Thursday when news broke that B.J. Emmons has decided to transfer.

The news, first reported by AL.com, isn't surprising considering the depth at running back for the Crimson Tide, but Emmons has a lot of talent as a runnre.

The sophomore rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown in seven games before a foot injury end his season and required two surgeries. The former four-star running back has his best performance against Kent State, rushing for 51 yards on eight carries in the 48-0 win.

The departure of Emmons leaves the Crimson Tide with five running backs, all of which could contribute in 2017. Damien Harris, Bo Scarbrough, and Josh Jacobs combined for more than 2,400 yards and 19 touchdowns last season, and Alabama added five-star Najee Harris and four-star Brian Robinson.

AL.com also reported that sophomore defensive back Aaron Robinson has also decided to transfer.
