Those in attendance at Wednesday night's (Feb. 8) 1 Night. 1 Place. 1 Time: A Heroes and Friends Tribute to Randy Travis concert enjoyed a bevy of performances from everyone from Garth Brooks to Chris YoungTravis Tritt to Jamey Johnson and many, many more. However, the biggest moment came at the end of the night, when Travis himself led the night's performers in a sing-a-long of "Amazing Grace" and "Will the Circle Be Unbroken."

Readers can press play above to see video of the special moment. The crowd exploded with applause and cheers as Travis and his wife Mary walked to the center of the stage at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena; as Travis began "Amazing Grace" solo, the artists in attendance assembled around him and joined in. Travis stayed with them as they passed the mic around for "Will the Circle Be Unbroken."

Since his stroke, Travis has been largely unable to speak or sing; however, at a private funeral in early February of 2016 and his Country Music Hall of Fame induction in mid-October of 2016, Travis surprised those in attendance by singing a bit of “Amazing Grace." He also took part in the opening medley at the 2016 CMA Awards, and has made numerous appearances at concerts and other events.

At the 2016 CMAs, Travis sang the final word of his own hit "Forever and Ever, Amen" -- a performance he reprised on Wednesday night when Brooks performed the song during 1 Night. 1 Place. 1 Time. At the end, Brooks walked over to where Travis and his wife were seated onstage and put the microphone up to Travis' mouth to let him have the final word.

During A Heroes and Friends Tribute to Randy Travis, Warner Music Nashville, the icon’s longtime record label, lauded Travis with an award recognizing his career achievements: more than 25 million albums sold, more than 20 No. 1 hits and half a dozen No. 1 albums.

“I think his relationship with songs and music is what got him through this,” Travis’ wife Mary says, “and I can only imagine, once he starts talking to us again, what kind of songs that he’s going to give us.”

A portion of the proceeds from 1 Night. 1 Place. 1 Time: A Heroes and Friends Tribute to Randy Travis will benefit the Randy Travis Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises money for stroke research and rehabilitation.
