Nick Saban is not done adding analysts for the upcoming 2021 season. According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Saban is hiring Dave Huxtable to serve as an analyst for the defending national champions. Huxtable has extensive experience as a defensive coordinator at several universities across his career.

Huxtable was most recently an analyst for Texas in the 2020 season but his most recent on-field role was with the NC State Wolfpack where he served as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for six seasons. He has also served as defensive coordinator at Pittsburgh, UCF, North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Western Kentucky. He has led defenses in 15 of his 38 years in the coaching profession.

He was let go as Wolfpack defensive coordinator after the 2019 season after his defense finished 74th nationally and the team finished with a 4-7 record.

Saban has experienced heavy turnover on his coaching staff this offseason in the form of both on-field coaches and analysts leaving Tuscaloosa for better opportunities. Saban has filled the on field vacancies but can choose to add as many off-field analysts as he desires.

Huxtables vast experience as a defensive coordinator makes him an attractive coach to bring into the program for the upcoming season. He also has experience as a special teams coordinator, linebackers and defensive line coach.

Huxtable joins Bill O'Brien, Jay Graham, Doug Marrone, Robert Gillespie, Jay Valai, Will Lawing, Ron Cooper and Mark Orphey as new members of the Alabama football program for the 2021 seasons.
