The Country Music Association's 2017 Vocal Group of the Year, Little Big Town, took the stage at the 2017 CMA Awards to give a touching tribute to Glen Campbell, performing his 1968 hit, "Wichita Lineman." And the heartfelt performance was made even more meaningful when Jimmy Webb -- the song's original writer -- joined on piano.

"Wichita Lineman" was the perfect song for Little Big Town to perform in honor of Campbell, with the country supergroup's flawless vocals bringing out the depth and layers of the song about telephone linemen, loneliness and the forbidden love of an affair. Campbell passed away on Aug. 8 -- three months to the day prior to the CMA Awards -- after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Campbell's family was present for the show, wiping tears from their eyes after the phenomenal performance.

Little Big Town had the potential to walk away with an armful of awards after this year's ceremony was over: The group was nominated for Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year.
