Police in Tuscaloosa are looking for help identifying a burglar who was allegedly caught on camera stealing cash and coins while donning a Scooby-Doo costume.

The bandit, wearing a mask and a full-body Scooby-Doo suit complete with a hood, reportedly broke into the Quik Stop service station on Highway 82 in Duncanville before dawn Tuesday morning.

In a post to Facebook complete with surveillance photos, the Tuscaloosa Police Department account said the costumed burglar broke in around 3:45, triggering a security alarm, and stole cash and coins from the store.

He was gone by the time officers arrived.

In their fun-spirited post, TPD said the thief appears to be a white male standing about 5 foot, 9 inches tall.

They are asking anyone who knows the true identity of this Scooby-spoofing miscreant to call 205-349-2121 or submit an anonymous tip on the TPD app.
