A local coffee outfit will donate a portion of their proceeds to help Tuscaloosa City Schools next week, they announced Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Scooter's Coffee, which opened on Tuscaloosa's 15th Street last summer, said they will participate in "Day of Giving" with New Heights Community Resource Center to raise funds for Tuscaloosa City Schools.

Next Tuesday, July 23rd, the coffee stand will donate 25 percent of its sales to help underprivileged children in the Tuscaloosa City Schools system.

The funds will be used to get supplies the children need for the 2024 - 2025 academic year.

"This initiative is a wonderful opportunity to support education and ensure that all students have the tools necessary to succeed," a Scooter's spokesperson said.

Head to Scooter's in Parkview Plaza off 15th Street next week to benefit local kids in need, and stay connected to the Tuscaloosa Thread.
