Police Release Body Cams From Louisville Mass Shooting
On Monday in Louisville a University of Alabama graduate, 25-year old Connor Sturgeon killed five people.
Sturgeon went into Old National Bank armed with a firearm purchased just one week ago and fired upon co-workers before Louisville Metro Police arrived on scene and engaged him.
The officers exchanged fire with Sturgeon, ultimately killing the mass shooter. The motive is unknown for the heinous attack, but on Tuesday the Louisville Metro Police department released body-camera footage of the officer's engagement with Sturgeon.
The footage can be seen from Officer Cory Galloway's vantage point. His partner, Officer Nickolas Wilt was unfortunately critically shot in the engagement.
Ultimately, Sturgeon killed five people and injured another eight. Officer Wilt is one of two victims who are still in critical condition.
Sturgeon received both a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Alabama in December of 2020.
UA said Sturgeon took advantage of UA's Accelerated Master’s Program and earned both a bachelor's degree in commerce and business administration as well as a master of science degree in finance.
