UPDATE, 1:35 P.M.: TCSO Deputy Martha Hocutt has told the Thread the horses have been located safely.

Deputies have spent the morning searching for a group of horses spotted wandering the roadside in southern Tuscaloosa.

Martha Hocutt, the deputy who oversees animal control operations for the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, said they received reports that two horses and three ponies were running free on North Rosser Road in southern Tuscaloosa County.

The post then got a huge signal boost from meteorologist James Spann, whose post sharing a picture of the horses was shared more than 1,400 times Monday morning.

 

UPDATE, 1:35 P.M.: Hocutt said the horses have been located safely.
