Sad news from Birmingham native and comedian Rickey Smiley came today as he posted a video sharing that his son, Brandon Smiley, has passed away.

In the video posted to his Instagram account, Rickey Smiley shared,

"I just have bad news this morning. I'm on my way to the airport to get to Birmingham," before breaking the unexpected news to his social media following.

 

"I just want everybody to pray for me, pray our family, my son Brandon Smiley has passed away this morning," Smiley said.

He encouraged his family members to "be strong" as he also solicited prayers for those close to his son Brandon.

"Pray for my son's mother and my son's siblings."

Rickey Smiley said in the video that he wanted to be the first to share the news to the public.

"I just wanted to give it to you before you hear it in the streets. Pray for me, I'm ok."

 

Brandon Smiley was a comedian, father, and actor.

There are no other details on the passing of Brandon Smiley at this time. As we gather more information, we will post updates.
