OK, Alabama, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sorry, no time to celebrate. It's time to monitor the various weather systems that could bring dangerous, severe weather to Alabama in early '23.

Looking Ahead to Tuesday

“More widespread thunderstorm potential is forecast on Tuesday ahead of an advancing cold front. Some of these storms could be strong to severe.”

Here are some highlights from James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist.

A morning round of rain and storms could limit instability values during the afternoon and evening hours.

The main dynamics will be passing well to the north of the state by Tuesday evening, resulting in a weakening low-level jet.

The wind profiles become somewhat unidirectional late in the day.
