Bite This! Popular Chick-fil-A Item Makes a Comeback in Tuscaloosa & Northport
I’m not sure who joined me in my culinary prayers, but it seems that someone was listening because the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich is gracing the Chick-fil-A menu once again, but only for a limited time.
Chick-fil-A You Had Me at Pimento Cheese
I’m a 70s baby, so pimento cheese was a thing back then. My folks would host game parties, and the menu included pimento cheese dip for those fancy wheat crackers and mini pimento cheese sandwiches.
Whoever created the Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich deserves an award. This sandwich is now available with either an original or spicy filet, topped with pimento cheese, mild pickled jalapeños, a honey drizzle, and served on a warm, toasted bun.
Last year, one of my Facebook friends admitted that she had the new sandwich three times in the same week. So, Bite This! ventured to try this special sandwich, and I was hooked, too.
Have You Tried the New Menu Item at Chick-fil-A?
Taste:
One word: delectable.
Honestly, I was worried about the jalapeños portion of this sandwich. But the mild pickled jalapeños really work well with the honey-topped chicken and pimento cheese.
In my first bite, I could see why my friend went back for it 3 times.
I might go back and get it again tonight.
Texture:
The star of the show is the delicate but hearty pimento cheese. It’s perfectly layered on top of the honey-drizzled original Chick-fil-A filet. It absolutely works.
Value:
My combo meal was right at $12, which is about average for pricing at Chick-fil-A.
Overall:
The tasting profile will give you the warm bun and then the kick of the pimento. As you continue, you get the slightly sweet (the honey), savory chicken, and pickled jalapeños, which provide a little taste snap at the end.
It’s a hit. However, I’m sad that it’s listed as a limited time for a seasonal feature.
