A recall was issued July 1 for several pounds of wieners suspected to not be packed correctly, according to the USDA.

U.S. Department of Agriculture’s food safety inspection service said the recall was issued due to a combination of misbranding and undeclared allergens.

The wieners in question were produced in May and were supposed to be a beef product; however, the package may contain smoked sausage instead.

A customer who purchased what they believed to be a product of beef alerted the FSIS about the packaging and what was actually in the package. The smoked sausage contained the allergen milk, which was not noted on the packages.
