No. 11 Alabama softball upped its record to 7-0 with two wins at the Rhoads House Friday at the Easton Bama Bash.  The scores were 7-3 Over St. Thomas and 3-1 over Virginia.

Said Tide Head Coach Patrick Murphy, "Kayla Beaver was really good for six innings. Too much traffic in the seventh.

"Jaala Torrence was really good in the first game. She was just filling the strike zone. Impressive to watch. She struck out nine in three and two-thirds."

Added pitcher Kayla Beaver: "My rise ball was working. I tell myself a lot to keep it simple. I trust my defense. That's what makes it so easy."

Here's how things went:

GAME TWO

Team 28 got on the board first with a two-out, two-run homer by Lauren Esman in the bottom of the opening frame.

"It was all ball and alll plate. It looked really good to me. I took a hack at it," Esman mused. "We've been practicing visualization. That really helped me."

All along, game two was the Kayla Beaver Show. The flame-throwing righty hit 72 on the radar gun several times and don't get too excited, but those are Montana Fouts numbers. Beaver went the distance hurling seven frames, allowing no earned runs, four hits, striking out six and walking one. She is now 3-0 on the season.

Virginia's lone run was unearned on a Bama throwing error.
