Ryan Williams Drawing CeeDee Lamb Comparisons – And He’s Poised for an Even Bigger 2025
Ryan Williams was Alabama's leading receiver as a true freshman last season. What's even more impressive is that Williams was 17 years old when he caught 48 passes for 865 yards and eight touchdowns, leading Alabama in receiving yards and touchdowns in 2024.

However, if Alabama is to compete for a national championship in 2025, Williams will need to become an even bigger star in Tuscalosoa. Fortunately for Alabama, PFF's Dalton Wasserman thinks Williams can do exactly that. Who does Williams remind Wasserman of?
That would be none other than now Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
"He's a little bit smaller, but he reminds me a lot of CeeDee Lamb," Wasserman said on PFF College. "I had to go compare the numbers to it."
Williams, as a true freshman, caught 48 passes for 850 yards and eight touchdowns. He had a 71.7 receiving grade according to PFF.
CeeDee Lamb, as a true freshman, caught 46 passes for 813 yards and seven touchdowns. He had a 75.6 receiving grade according to PFF.
The comparison doesn't stop there. Lamb only had two 100-yard performances as a true freshman. So did Williams.
Alabama got an up-close look at Lamb during his sophomore campaign, with Lamb catching eight passes for 109 yards and a touchdown against Alabama in the 2018 Orange Bowl during the College Football Playoffs.
"Very, very similar to CeeDee Lamb's freshman year at Oklahoma," Wasserman said.
He then said something that will have Alabama fans happy for 2025.
"I think you're about to see an explosion, especially if Kalen DeBoer, getting everybody in year two in this offense, and then they can figure out the quarterback situation."
Lamb went on to catch 65 passes for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore. As a junior for the Sooners, Lamb caught 62 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Dallas Cowboys drafted him in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.
If Williams can aim for a similar trajectory for his career, he'll be hearing his name called on night one of the 2027 NFL draft.
