TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The newest members of the Alabama women's basketball team arrived in Tuscaloosa in late May to begin becoming accustom to college life and training for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

The Crimson Tide welcomed seven new members:

  • Ace Austin is a 5-foot-7-inch freshman guard from Spring Garden, Alabama:  She brings a high-IQ, floor-leading mentality to the backcourt. Known for her disciplined play, crisp passing, and leadership on and off the floor, she excels in running the offense and is an efficient scorer when needed, especially in the mid-range and from beyond the arc. She is an ESPNW four-star recruit, the ESPNW No. 55-ranked player in the Class of 2025, and Prospects Nation No. 43-ranked player in the Class of 2025.
  • Tianna Chambers is a 6-foot-1-inch freshman guard from Aurora, Colorado: very athletic with great speed, defensive intensity, and slashing ability. She thrives in transition and is an active on-ball defender. Her length and athleticism make her a versatile piece on both ends, with the potential to grow into a two-way standout as she adjusts to Southeastern Conference competition. She was the Prep Girls Hoops No. 5 ranked player in Colorado, an ESPNW four-star recruit, and the ESPNW No. 94 player.
  • Lourdes Da Silva Costa is a 6-foot-3-inch freshman forward from Stockholm, Sweden: an international addition, Costa brings length and finesse to the frontcourt. She has experience playing at a high level overseas and adds a polished style of play. She's soft around the rim, with a shot-blocking presence. Her European style of play brings versatility to Alabama's post rotation. She's an ESPNW four-star recruit, she is ranked No. 51 by ESPNW in the class of 2025.
  • Joy Egbuna is a 6-foot-3-inch freshman forward from Arlington, Texas: Egbuna is a physically strong and athletic forward known for her rebounding skills and dominance in the paint. She plays with relentless energy and excels at finishing plays through contact. Her defensive instincts and hustle make her a valuable presence in the post. Egbuna is an ESPNW four-star recruit, ranked No. 97 overall by ESPNW and No. 85 in the BTN Scouting 150.
  • Alancia Ramsey is a 6-foot Coastal Carolina transfer junior forward from Delray Beach Florida: Ramsey brings both experience and size to the Crimson Tide frontcourt. During her time at Coastal Carolina, she demonstrated strong rebounding and interior defensive capabilities. Her addition will provide a rotational post player who can set screens, secure rebounds, and offer interior toughness. Ramsey was a 2025 All-Sun Belt Third-Team selection, and contributed to Coastal Carolina's 77-68 Sun Belt Conference Championship quarterfinal victory over Georgia State on March 8, 2025, which advanced the team to the semifinals for the first time in school history.
  • Ta'Mia Scott a 6-foot Middle Tennessee transfer senior guard from Clarksville Tennessee: Scott was a proven score while playing at MTSU. She is a dynamic guard capable of creating her own shots and stretching the floor. She averaged double-digit points during her time in Conference USA, bringing veteran experience and scoring depth to the team. A four-time CUSA Player of the Week, highlighted by three recognitions. She surpassed 1,000 career points on March 12, 2025, becoming the 37th Blue Raider in program history to reach this milestone.
  • Waiata Jennings a 5-foot-9-inch Baylor University transfer senior from Rotorua, New Zealand: Jennings adds Power Five experience from a strong Baylor program. She is a versatile backcourt player known for her composure and court vision. Her international background and high-level experience make her a valuable asset who can provide leadership both on and off the court. A three-point specialist, 38 of her 56 shots came from beyond the arc, averaging 34.3% from deep, and 39.3% from the field. This is a significant addition for the Crimson Tide, who will need to replace Aaliyah Nye, the program's single-season three-point leader.
