Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer Answers Question Bluntly: Will he be Alabama’s Coach Next Year?
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Crimson Tide returned to the practice field on Monday in preparation for the Crimson Tide's playoff game against the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday, December 19.

Despite the Crimson Tide trying to focus on Oklahoma and the playoffs, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has been the center of media distraction, being linked to the Michigan Wolverines' open head coaching position. DeBoer released a statement on Sunday, reaffirming his commitment to Alabama and the Crimson Tide ahead of Alabama's playoff game on Friday. Shortly after, it was reported that DeBoer and Alabama are working on a contract extension.
That didn't stop DeBoer from fielding questions during Monday's press conference about the open position with Michigan, with two of his first three questions being about Michigan's head coaching opening. DeBoer removed all uncertainty on Monday.
"A lot of the same things I said before [about the Penn State opening], you know, a couple weeks ago, when asked, really the same question," DeBoer said on Monday. "Just, you know, feel completely supported. My family loves living here. Just all the things that we continue to build on - love the progress.
"Haven't talked with anyone, no plans of talking with anyone."
DeBoer answered the second question with a chuckle, with the reporter asking, "For clarification, will you be the coach at Alabama next season?"
"Yes, I plan on it, yes," DeBoer said. "Nick, yes. Charlie, yes."
DeBoer is in his second year of a 10-year deal that is set to pay him more than $10 million annually.
