Alabama Lands Commitment From Georgia Offensive Lineman
Alabama has begun a trend of defeating ranked opponents and landing a commitment shortly after. Last week, Alabama defeated No. 5 Georgia 24-21 and earned a commitment from four-star 2027 offensive lineman Jatori Williams.

On Saturday, Alabama defeated No. 16 Vanderbilt 30-14, and the Crimson Tide just earned a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Jared Doughty, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.
Doughty is a three-star offensive lineman who plays his high school football at Banneker High School in Atlanta, Georgia. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman committed to the Crimson Tide over Georgia, Ohio State, Florida State, and Auburn.
In his commitment post, Doughty posted, "Mom's dream come true, I'm home."
Doughty has official visits scheduled to several programs during the season, starting his visits on October 11 when he'll visit Florida State. He also has visits scheduled to:
Georgia on October 18
Ohio State on October 31
Alabama on November 15
Auburn on November 21
His primary recruiter is Alabama offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic, and he marks the 22nd commitment for the Crimson Tide in the 2026 recruiting class. He joins four-star Sam Utu, four-star Chris Booker, and three-star Bear Fretwell as offensive linemen committed to Alabama in the 2026 recruiting class.
Alabama now holds the No. 3 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to the 247 Composite rankings, behind only Georgia and USC. Both the Bulldogs and the Trojans have over 30 commitments, while Alabama has 22.
