Byrne hired Rob Vaughn, who earned his first SEC series win this past weekend against Tennessee. The Volunteers were the fifth-ranked team in the country.

Byrne also hired Kalen DeBoer less than 72 hours after Nick Saban retired. DeBoer has won at every location before Alabama. Most recently, DeBoer had Washington in the College Football Playoff National Championship just four days before taking the Alabama job.

Now, Greg Byrne has signed a well-deserved contract extension. According to a public records release, Byrne is making $1.885 million beginning in July. By the end of his deal in July 2031, Byrne will be making $2.305 million.
