Alabama Starting LB Declares for NFL
Another starter from the Crimson Tide's 2023 defense has declared for the NFL draft.
Alabama will look to replace three starters in the secondary with Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold both declaring early for the NFL draft and Jaylen Key exhausting all his eligibility.
To make things tougher, Alabama is losing Chris Braswell, Dallas Turner, and Justin Eboigbe from its defensive line and pass rush.
Alabama has also lost a starting linebacker, with Georgia transfer Trezman Marshall declaring for the NFL draft.
Marshall spent one season with the Crimson Tide after plying for the Georgia Bulldogs and winning back-to-back national championships in Athens. In his announcement, Marshall thanked Coach Nick Saban and Coach Kirby Smart.
Alabama presumably already knows who will take his spot, with Marshall splitting reps with Jihaad Campbell all season. However, simply because Campbell split reps, does mean Coach Saban will make him the de facto starter in 2024.
Coach Saban wants to make sure his players are taking the right steps and developing like they are supposed to. Campbell will still have to compete for a starting position just like everyone else on the Crimson Tide.
