Alabama Practice Observations from the Tide’s CFP Practice on Monday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Crimson Tide took to the practice field on Monday as Alabama continues preparation for Friday night's opening round of the College Football Playoffs, where Alabama will travel to Norman, Oklahoma, for a date with the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma defeated Alabama 23-21 in Bryant-Denny Stadium earlier this season on November 15; the Sooners forced three turnovers on the Crimson Tide.

On Monday, the media were allowed to watch the first four periods of the Crimson Tide's practice, which included a stretch period and individual periods for each of Alabama's position groups, specifically the pass catchers and defensive line.
A couple of notes from Alabama's media-viewing portion from Monday morning's practice:
Starting running back Jam Miller looked pretty agile and was working with Alabama's starting unit (when the unit was together), leading the Tide's running back room through drills on Monday morning. Additionally, starting center Parker Brailsford and starting left guard Kam Dewberry were working with the Tide's offensive line in their typical first-team roles. Dewberry did not play in Alabama's 28-7 loss to Georgia in the SEC Championship, and Brailsford was working with a spat on his left ankle and has been playing at less than 100 percent for Alabama over the last month.
Starting tight end Josh Cuevas was not in a black non-contact jersey on Monday, and was lined up with the Tide's roster during the stretch period on Monday morning. Once Alabama broke out into groups, Cuevas, with a taped-up right foot, was working by himself on a stationary bike off to the side.
We did not see starting Bandit LT Overton on Monday, nor reserve defensive lineman Kelby Collins. Both Overton and Collins were listed as 'out' for the SEC Championship with an illness, according to head coach Kalen DeBoer during the week of the SEC Championship. Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. was also not at practice after being suspended in November following a bye-week arrest.
Alabama will face Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, in the first round of the College Football Playoff on Friday, December 19, at 7:00 p.m.
