Alabama Basketball Rises in AP Poll

The latest AP Poll for collegiate men's basketball has been released, and Alabama continues to rise in the rankings. This sets the stage for a potentially monumental matchup in Coleman Coliseum later in February.

Alabama is ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll following back-to-back losses by then number three Iowa State. The Auburn Tigers continue their run as the unanimous No. 1 team in the country, a ranking the Tigers have held since week 11 of the college basketball season.

Alabama and Auburn still have a handful of games ahead of them, but if these rankings hold, No. 3 Alabama will host No. 1 Auburn inside Coleman Coliseum for the first Iron Bowl of Basketball matchup of the season on February 15. It could be a catalyst that propels one team to a potential Final Four run or demolishes the confidence of the losing squad.

Alabama and Auburn will also matchup in Neville Arena in Auburn, Alabama, during the final game of the regular season on March 8.
