It’s National Margarita Day, Enjoy Monk’s Favorite Recipe
I put my love of margarita's on a list with things like my family, my cat, music and reruns of All in the Family, so you know I'll be celebrating National Margarita Day!
The Wikipedia definition of a margarita is: a Mexican cocktail consisting of tequila mixed with Cointreau or similar orange-flavored liqueur and lime or lemon juice, often served with salt on the glass rim. The drink is served shaken with ice, on the rocks, blended with ice (frozen margarita) or without ice (straight up).
My definition of a margarita is: Pure, divine, slightly fattening, heavenly goodness!
I like the original lime flavor and prefer to have it frozen. And if you add in a little lime sherbet when making them, it adds a special creamy twist to this already fantastic concoction.
If you're into making margaritas at home, try my recipe for the perfect mix:
- 2 cans of Bacardi lime margarita mixer
- 1 cup of lime sherbet
- 2/3 bottle of Corona
- 2 cups of ice
- 1 cup (or more) of tequila!
Blend, serve and enjoy!
