Record-setting rains continue to fall on Houston and surrounding areas after Hurricane Harvey first made landfall on Friday (Aug. 25). Here are several places to donate to be a part of the relief effort.

Country singers like Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert were among the first to step up. Lady A donated a night's worth of merchandise profits to the relief effort, while Lambert sent her MuttNation charity to Houston to help clear animal shelters and make room for new pets in need.

Chris Young and Granger Smith are two with continuing efforts. Young donated $100,000 to the Red Cross and set up a GoFundMe page asking his fans donate. Profits from Smith and Texas artist Josh Abbott Band's merchandise sales will toward Hurricane Harvey relief. Smith's wife Amber also made a passionate plea for donations to the Texas Diaper Bank to ensure that displaced mothers have what they need to care for their little ones.

Below are links to the those online initiatives, plus several other national charities that have provided integral assistance:

American Red Cross
Chris Young's GoFundMe Fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey
Granger Smith Merchandise
Greater Houston Community Foundation
Josh Abbott Band's JAB Cares Hurricane Relief T-Shirt
Salvation Army
Texas Diaper Bank

Since first making landfall, Hurricane Harvey has dropped over 50 inches of rain in some parts of Texas, with more expected through the week. The death toll has been difficult to tabulate, the USA Today reports, and it will be days if not weeks before a full assessment of the damage is possible. A massive relief effort has been underway for days, but donations will be spread out for weeks to come.

Another way to donate is to text "REDCROSS" to 90999. A $10 donation to the Red Cross will appear on your next wireless bill.
