Fundraiser For Little Black Dress Initiative

I love everything about the Junior League of Tuscaloosa.  According to their website, their mission is to be an “organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.” They have several fundraisers throughout the year, and one coming up is for the Little Black Dress Initiative.  The LBDI is also a “social media driven fundraising campaign that uses the iconic “little black dress” to raise awareness about poverty and its effects on women in society. Participants pledge to wear one little black dress or ensemble for five consecutive days and use their social media platforms to shine a light on poverty and raise funds to be poured back into the community.”  In addition, to social media awareness, the Junior League of Tuscaloosa is hosting percentage nights as well.  They will take place on “Wednesday, March 4: Chuck’s Fish (5-10 pm) and Friday, March 6: Session Bar (4-7 pm).
