Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses raised a few eyebrows at SEC Media Days in Hoover Wednesday when he said the toughest game he's ever played was against the Georgia Bulldogs, not the Clemson Tigers.

"The toughest game I've played in was the Georgia game last year in the SEC Championship," Moses said. "It was a very aggressive game on both sides of the ball. Georgia came with it, we came with it and I just remember after that game I felt like I'd gotten into a brawl, my entire body was hurting and it took me a couple days to get back healthy."

Alabama was able to rally late in that game and beat the Bulldogs 35-28 to secure their spot in the 2018 College Football Playoff. Two games later, the Tide lost the CFP National Championship to the Clemson Tigers 16-44.

Now a leader of Alabama's perennially intimidating defense, Moses said he takes responsibility for how the team fares on that side of the ball.

"It's all up to me to get that done -- I tell myself and I tell everyone else, whatever happens with this defense this year, it's on me and I take pride in all of that," Moses said. "I'm a perfectionist and I want things done the right way just as Coach Saban wants things done the right way."

Moses said the key to defensive success is for every player to function as a member of the unit, not as an individual star.

"It's just everyone being on the same page, everyone having the same mindset, and guys coming together and having an ultimate goal they're trying to achieve," Moses said Wednesday morning. "When guys come and they're worried about their individual goals and not worried about what the team goal is, that's when it causes an issue. What Coach Saban says all the time, if guys come in and do what they're supposed to do and we win games, it brings a lot of attention to the team and awards and all that will come on its own."
