Sammy Watson is a native Tuscaloosan who began his radio career at age 19. Most of his on-air days were spent in country music and he now holds down the afternoon slot on Catfish 100.1. He loves country music and always attends the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival in the Gulf Shores area. Sammy was elected to three terms on the Tuscaloosa City Council and now serves as Community Relations Director for DCH Health System. Sammy is active in the Tuscaloosa community and serves on a number of boards including the Police Athletic League, Shelton State Community College Foundation, Easter Seals, and Presbyterian Apartments. He is a Meals on Wheels volunteer. In the past, he served on the boards of the Tuscaloosa Public Library, Kid One Transport and Chaired the Presidents Community Advisory Council at the University of Alabama.
