Friday night, the American Christian Patriots (8-0, 6-0) dismantled the Dallas County Hornets (3-5, 3-3) 47-16. From start to finish, ACA dominated with over 330 total yards and seven total touchdowns. This eighth straight win secured ACA a third straight region title.

After receiving a positive COVID-19 test result on Wednesday, Alabama head coach Nick Saban is expected to miss the #2 Crimson Tide’s home matchup against the #3 Georgia Bulldogs. For many Alabama fans, it will be a new sight when a coach, other than Nick Saban, walks the sidelines for ‘Bama, but for older fans, they will be transported back to a time before Alabama dominance.

Friday night, the Hillcrest Patriots (5-1, 2-1) took down the cross-town rival Northridge Jaguars (6-1, 3-1) 49-21.

Friday night, the Northridge Jaguars (6-0, 3-0) took down the undefeated Gordo Green Wave (5-1, 3-0) 17-13. While these teams have deep football roots in Tuscaloosa county, this is the first time that both teams have played. Junior Northridge running back LiEric Street led the Jaguar offense by rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.

Two of the premier high school football teams in Alabama, the No. 1 Thompson Warriors and the No. 3 Hewitt-Trussville Huskies faced off in Trussville tonight for a game that will go down in the history books.

The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies (4-0, 2-0) pulled away from the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats (1-3, 0-2) Friday night to secure their second straight region win.

In what started as a defensive battle full of fumbles, the Demopolis Tigers (3-0, 1-0) took down the Central Falcons 40-24. The Tigers had a rough half, losing three of their four fumbles. Demopolis coach Brian Seymore helped his team turn that around in the second half with four touchdowns, three of which were unanswered in the fourth quarter.

Friday night, Northridge High School (2-0, 0-0) made a statement with a 26-0 win over Central High School (Tuscaloosa) (1-1, 0-0).

For the first time in many of our lives, teams like Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia will only be playing SEC teams. That’s why I am ranking the top five games of the upcoming SEC conference-only schedule that I can’t wait to watch.
