Don't let Nick Saban know we're talking hypotheticals, but the first College Football Playoff rankings are less than a week away and it's a chance to start discussing potential matchups.

With a bye week, there's little doubt that Alabama will be the top-ranked team in the initial rankings, but how would the Crimson Tide fare against the other national championship contenders?

One group of oddsmakers have already released point spreads for Alabama's five possible opponents based on the current polls. According to Sportsbook, there's only one team in the country that wouldn't be a double-digit underdog against Alabama.

Take a look at the current odds for possible playoff games:

Alabama (-9.5) vs Michigan

Alabama (-10) vs Ohio State

Alabama (-11.5) vs Clemson

Alabama (-14.5) vs Louisville

Alabama (-14.5) vs Washington

In case you forgot, the Crimson Tide wasn't a double-digit favorite in either of its two playoff games last year when it won the national championship. Oddsmakers made Alabama a 9.5-point favorite over Michigan State and a 6.5-point favorite over Clemson.

These numbers are a bit surprising considering the level of competition, but they follow a trend through the 2016 season. Alabama has been a double-digit favorite in its first eight games this year and that should continue over the final four games of the regular season.

If the standings hold and one of these matchups happens, which do you think would be most difficult for Alabama?
