The Alabama Crimson Tide has put numerous players into the NFL throughout the history of the program. The Tide has seen its alums dominate the league and now one of its best is being honored by the franchise he played most of his career with.

The Seattle Seahawks have decided to honor former Crimson Tide legend Shaun Alexander by inducting him into the franchise's Ring of Honor.

Alexander was drafted by the Seahawks with the No 19 overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. The Alabama Sports Hall of Famer made the Pro Bowl three times during his career and is a member of the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team.

In 2005 he set career highs in 370 carries for 1880 yards and 27 touchdowns on his way to an MVP season. Unfortunately for Alexander that season ended with his Seahawks losing in the Super Bowl to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He started 96 games for the Seahawks and totaled 9453 yards and got into the endzone 88 times He also managed 1520 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns over his eight year Seattle sport.

He was already a member of the Seattle Seahawks 35th Anniversary Team and now he will be recognized as one of the 14 people in the Seattle Rin of Honor.
