A $20,000 Reward Is Being Offered For These Stolen Moundville Items
Back in 1980, more than 260 artifacts were stolen from the Moundville Archaeological Park. Do you know where they are? Do you know who might have them? Were you even born yet? It doesn't matter! Because information leading to the recovery of those stolen artifacts could get you $20,000!
Dr. Jim Knight, professor emeritus of anthropology at the University of Alabama told Al.com that the stolen artifacts were lifted from the Erskine Ramsay Archaeological Repository back in 1980. The artifacts consisting of bottles, bowls, jars, jewelry, and various ornaments, have been appraised at approximately $1 Million. Knight believes that the entire collection of artifacts may still be intact, because none of the items has ever shown up for sale trade.
Even after 38 years, Knight believes that the stolen artifacts can still be recovered. As he told The Tuscaloosa News, “The reward, together with advancements in technology that allow for the rapid dissemination of information by news outlets and social media, offer new hope in an effort to recover the artifacts.”
So, if you have any info on the whereabouts of these stolen artifacts, remember, it could get you $20,000!
