I grew up on a numbered street, the corner of 6th Street and 7th Avenue in South Florida. It was nothing exciting, no story behind the street name. Just that we had a well-manicured lawn (thanks Dad) and a long red fence on 7th Avenue.

Secretly, I always wanted to have a “named” street. Something exciting so I could write it all fancy on the Christmas cards.

There are some quirky street names in Alabama that could have definitely fit the dreams of having a street name with some pizzazz.
