Aside from all of the doughnut jokes that have plagued them for years, most police officers are usually physically fit, right? Well, we'll soon see if those in Tuscaloosa are!

Tuscaloosa Titans, part of the North American Basketball League, is having an exhibition community relations basketball game against the Tuscaloosa Police Department at the Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) gym, which is located in Mckenzie Court.

The March 17 event is being called "Taking the City Back One Child at a Time."  Michael Scales, President of Basketball Operations for the Titans, says, "This means that the children are the future, and if we could reach the children one at a time and show them that they can be anything they want to be if they put their minds to the task."

He added that the team got the Tuscaloosa Police Department involved to give area residents the chance to see them in a different setting in efforts of building better community relations with the children and adults in Tuscaloosa.

There is no admission for all children and it will cost only $5 dollars for adults,. The event will kick off at 2 p.m. and will include free pizza for all children during the game and a DJ, Host, and halftime performance. This event will kick off at 2 P.M. with a meet and greet with the Police Department and autographs signed by the Tuscaloosa Titans Basketball team. The game between the Titans and Police Department will start around 3:15 P.M.
