One of Tuscaloosa's longest-running holiday traditions will return next month as the YMCA Men's Club brings its annual Christmas Tree Sale back to the parking lot of the Bowlero bowling alley on McFarland Boulevard.

The Club supports the Y and programming like youth sports, senior fitness classes and Day Camp scholarships for children in need.

For more than 60 years, its members have conducted the Christmas Tree Sale to give West Alabama an easy, affordable option to get genuine fir trees for the holiday season, all while supporting a good cause.

“Last year’s trees were of excellent quality and this year we expect the overall demand to be higher with a somewhat limited supply," said the Club's Tree Chairman Jimmy Duren. "So shop early!"

This year, the Club is offering Frazier and Balsam Firs shipped directly from North Carolina. The trees will be between 7 and 12 feet tall, and free delivery is available within Tuscaloosa County whether they're bought on-site or ordered online.

The trees are expected to hit the Bowlero lot on Wednesday, November 23rd, but pre-orders are available now at ysmens.org or at 205-752-1533, extension 23.

Since the trees are set to arrive in town the day before Thanksgiving, the Club has released an operations schedule that gives volunteers that day off to be with their families.
