Suspect Held In Connection With Tuscaloosa Apartment Shooting

One man is in jail and another man remains in critical condition following last night's shooting at the Brookhaven Apartments,.located off of James Harrison Parkway.

Authorities believe at least four people fired shots during the melee in the parking lot of the apartment complex which took place just before 9:00pm.

Jerry “Pop” Edwards, 25, was booked earlier this afternoon on charges of first-degree theft and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Authorities say that they recovered more than 50 shell casings at the crime scene. Surveillance video from the complex captured much of the shootout which Homicide Investigators were able to review.

Edwards is currently being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail with bond set at $45,000. He has previous convictions for receiving stolen property and robbery.
