Most of the snow has moved through west Alabama and it hasn't been too bad, but there is still a strong concern for icing as temperatures drop well below freezing tonight.

In preparation for these travel issues, some schools have already announced closings for Wednesday. The list is short at this time, but we'll update this story as more decisions are made.

Additional closings:

  • All Alabama state agencies will be closed on Wednesday
  • The City of Tuscaloosa business services center and municipal court will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday
  • Garbage, trash and recycling collection crews will suspend collection Wednesday, Jan. 17
  • Tuscaloosa Public Library - Will be closed on Wednesday

The forecast calls for temperatures in the teens overnight and a high in the mid-30s on Wednesday. Please take caution if you have to leave your house.
