Heads up, West Alabama: we could see severe storms this afternoon. The National Weather Service in Birmingham has placed much of West Alabama under a slight risk for storms today. Threats include damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH and brief tornadoes. The remainder of our listening area is under a marginal risk for storms--the primary threat will be damaging winds.
