Upon finishing the team's first full-team practice of 2021 in Sewell-Thomas Stadium, Alabama Baseball's head coach Brad Bohannon and redshirt sophomore Sam Praytor took time for questions from local media members via Zoom.

With just three weeks until opening day in Tuscaloosa, Bohannon started the young bunch in a five-inning scrimmage on day one after a full-team workout. When asked about his early interpretation of his freshman-heavy roster, Bohannon referred to his squad as, "high-character kids... we'll be ready for February 19."

About the presence of the veterans in his locker room, Bohannon wasn't shy when discussing the improvement from catcher Sam Praytor and left-handed freshman hurler Connor Prielipp.

On Praytor, Bohannon stated, "There's not a better catcher in the country than Sam, I honestly couldn't name one."

To comply with NCAA and SEC COVID-19 policies, practices, along with all pre-season activities at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, will be closed off from the public for the safety of Alabama players, staff, and fans.

Alabama's Opening Day comes to Tuscaloosa on Friday, Feb. 19, as the McNeese State Cowboys visit Sewell-Thomas for a three-day, three-game matchup to christen the season.
